Observation 321760: Conocybe tenera group

When: 2018-07-02

Collection location: Dallas, Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave W (Dave W)

No specimen available

Notes:
Spores 10-12 × 4.5-6 with Q most often >=2.

Hymenial cystidia not found. Basidia rotund (bulging mid-section).

Open area near boundary between roadway and lawn, near the base of a hardwood tree.

Color seems to fit these in with C. tenera. But spore quotient seems to be a bit on the large size for tenera.

are a bit thinner (larger value of Q) than what is reported for tenera. But seeing as “Conocybe tenera” likely refers to a group of taxa, some variation in spore morphology is to be expected.

Spores seem to be in your observation’s range.
