I apologize for the mixed collection. I just didn’t have the heart to separate the pair for the photo.
This observation is for the Hygrocybe, please disregard the Sarcoscypha coccinea.

Something weird..

Something weird happened… I was just about to dry this, and when I took it out of the tackle box, I realized that the cap is green!

When I first found this I was calling it H. psittacina, but when I looked at the photo later, the purple cap just wasn’t convincing.. But now the pileus is green, which definitely supports the H. psittacina idea, but with that species the cap is supposed to go from green to pink, not like this one going from purple to green… Weird.

It’s hardly your fault the two mushrooms decided to grow right next to each other. :)

Perhaps the duplicate obs should be changed to be for the Sarcoscypha though.
