Observation 322120: Boletaceae Chevall.

Pore surface reddish brown.

Stipe reticulate.

Cut context bluing quickly and completely.

Growing from a bank along a dirt road. Mainly hardwoods, oak, beech. One hemlock on other side of dirt road.

I have found this type in the same spot in the past. Also, what is likely the same taxon found in nearby area dominated by beech. I believe I still have material from older observations available for study.

Pore surface not as dark as what is seen for Boletus fagicola in “NA Boletes”, but this fruit body is post mature.

Spores 9.5-10.5 × 4-4.5, seemingly short and with larger Q than what is reported for fagicola in “NA Boletes”.

NAMP accession #58766.
