Observation 325596: Craterellus calyculus (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Burt
When: 2018-07-31
Collection location: Kanawha State Forest, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, USA [Click for map]
Who: Evan D (Wmdavis87)
Specimen available
Notes:
Found growing in moss under a Fagus grandifolia ( american beech) about 5cm away from a Phylloporus species. Specimen are tiny, approx. 15-20mm tall. Suspected C calyculus but the lighter yellow color, especially around the margin makes me think it’s something different. Craterellus hesleri seems possible as well. Spore print was unsubstantial.
