Substrate/Host: on detatched, fallen bark of unknown wood, probably Eastern Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis)
Habitat: in a hemlock dominated portion of a mixed hardwood-conifer forest
Ecoregion: border of Glaciated Low Allegheny Plateau (60a) and Finger Lakes Uplands and Gorges (60d)

Comments: I found this in Puerto Rico just a few weeks ago, unable to identify it to kingdom. Jonathan introduced me to the name Myrothecium shortly thereafter, which I’d never heard of. lo and behold, here is the same(-ish) thing in my backyard in New York.
