Observation 328303: Amanita phalloides (Vaill. ex Fr.) Link
When: 2018-08-06
Collection location: Druskininkai, Lithuania [Click for map]
54.0083°N 23.9832°E 98m [Click for map]
Who: I. G. Safonov (IGSafonov)
No specimen available
Notes:
Two fused and contorted fruiting bodies growing in mixed deciduous woods of birch, linden, maple, with 2-3 oaks also in the vicinity. They grew pretty close to the A. pantherina of obs 328245. I didn’t excavate them.
The cap color scheme and the presence of what look like UV & PV point toward the Death Cap, but the short gills appear to be too rounded for the species.
