Notes:
Growing in mixed woods. Appears to be a saprobe. Stipe is rigid and woody, smooth. No staining that I saw (though I did not section it).

… point out, in their description of B. pallidus, that it can fruit “on decaying wood.” I didn’t realize that and was stumped as a result. I think B. pallidus is my bolete. Thanks Igor, Eva.
