Habitat: mulch of uncertain etiology
Cap: diameters to 66 mm, waxy dry, initially convex, uplifted margin at maturity, smooth, medium brown, soon lightening peripherally, hygrophanous
Gills: close, adnate with a decurrent tooth, pale but darkening to brown with persisting whitish, slightly serrate edges
Stipe: 50 mm long x 10 mm at apex and 6 mm at base. Whitish, white pruinose above the ring, brown fibrillose below it. Flesh white, solid, tough
Partial veil: membranous, felty, radial ridges on the upper surface, irregularly lumpy below. Separating from both the cap margin and stipe, persisting as a donut that falls down the stipe
Spore print: cigar brown
Odor & taste: Sharp odor of creosote. Taste mild
