Notes:
Growing gregariously under longleaf pine. Volva is saccate, thick, and loosely attached to the stipe base. Cap is shallowly striate. Partial veil remains (on most fruiting bodies) as a whispy upturned collar – not at all skirt-like. Gills are wide, protruding beyond the edge of the cap.
