Observation 335977: Amanita stirps Sororcula

When: 2018-09-29

Collection location: Cherry Valley, Monroe Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Chris Foss (The Vault Dweller)

No specimen available

Notes:
I made a mistake with this. I thought it was brown which is an Amanita I’ve found before, but it appears almost olive green which doesn’t match anything I’ve seen. I didn’t take a sample for a spore print since I didn’t expect to be needing to identify it.

The mushroom clearly has a volval sac that weakens, turns gray, and breaks up.

A good gues for this in Pennsylvania is that it will fall intos Amanita stirps Sororcula.
