I agree with Igor. It had more of a minty smell rather than anise. Beautiful mushroom.

To my nose it registered as a refreshing “minty-floral scent” that I also catch in submaculata and umbilicata. The specimen has been preserved and I have additional pix showing the pretty color. :-) I will probably re-post this collection later when I am ready to ship specimens to you.

Did you pick up the anise odor? Nice photo, nice specimen.
