Found growing next to each other (pretty sure they are the same species and genus; one juvenile, one matured. Possibly Gymnopilus sp. along a lake many pine and birch trees. Also oak and sand close by but found living in grass in or near tree roots.

Thanks for the help I was hoping it could possibly be Gymnopilus but I still intend to find more and look into it deeper. Very unfortunately I snapped these photos and moved on without touching the specimens at all. I hope when I do you will check them out and let me know what u think.
