When: 2018-10-08

Collection location: Kailua, Honolulu Co., Hawaii, USA [Click for map]

Who: Nicholas (NWJ)

No specimen available

All I have is this image unfortunately, I am IDing this for a friend and I am not currently in the area to offer any more identifying features or details. Any ideas just based on this photo? It is growing on a domestic lawn, as you can see, nearby tress are Coconut and Norfolk Pine, Hibiscus

A further detail, The sample I’m told is 15" on it’s widest dimension. Again, my sincere apologies for the lack of info, but I can see why you think Polypore, it does just appear to by lying on the lawn – as if he had taken it of a tree and left it there, but this seems unlikely, he did say it is growing from the ground … my initial (untrained) thought was that it must be some kind of Calvatia
