Notes:
Growing in clusters from dead birch in mixed woods. Caps 2.5-5 cm, smooth, shallowly convex, developing a slight bump in the center as they mature, pinkish brown. Gills close, pinkish brown, notched, no partial veil. Stipes 3-6 cm long x 3-8 mm thick, light tan to cream, smooth, hollow, very fragile. Spore print bright reddish pink. Spores ellipsoid, hyaline in KOH, inamyloid, 6.1-7.1 × 3.4-4.1, n=30. Pleurocystidia numerous, ventricose-rostrate with very thick walls near the tip. Cheilocystidia inflated cylindrical, thin-walled.
