Cap/upper_surface: up to 10 cm diameter; low convex; smooth; dry; veil remnants visible; yellow with reddish patches centrally and some cracking in older specimens.
Cap/underside: Pores, 2-3/mm; angular, often depressed near stipe; covered with yellow veil that stretches as the mushroom grows, tearing, and leaving chalky annulus and remnants at margin; pore surface turns brown; bruises blue rapidly
Stipe: ca 1 cm diameter at apex; becoming thicker towards base, become even along length when mature; chalky annulus, which is fragile and may be easily removed; yellow with some red striations.
