Observation 339444: Pisolithus arhizus group

Very young and dusty specimen found in excellent condition under an oak tree near young Scleroderma citrinum in Valdosta State University campus.

Sidewalk view of sporocarp.
Pen for size approximation
“Roots” after being picked from the ground. Yellow drops of moisture can be seen.
Size approx. 15 cm/ half a ruler in size.
X40 magnification. Spores are round, spiny or warty.
Freshly cut Pisolithus tinctorius sporocarp. Bright yellow peridioles seen. Very dusty sporocarp, spore dust everywhere.
X100 magnification under oil immersion. Finer details can be seen on the spores such as their spikes.
