There is an error in your sequence, but it is outside of the nrITS locus.
Here is an annotation of your sequence:
nrSSU (3’ terminus) comprises characters: 1-27
ITS1: 28-206
5.8S: 207-367
ITS2: 368-528
nrLSU: begins at 529, but should start with “TTT” instead of “TT”
Since the nrLSU 5’ motif is rather well-conserved, I think that there was a failure to detect alll three “T’s” because of poor signal near the end of the reads. Could be wrong, but that’s my first guess.
Cool. Look to see if there is a substantial limubus internus inside the volva of your dried material.

Hi Rod,
This specimen was selected for sequencing by Mycoflora@VSU. We will link to the sequence as soon as it is in. Thanks for the checklist link!

Is a part of this specimen available for DNA sequencing? I would very much like to know what it can tell us.
The number of probable species of Amanita sect. Vaginatae in the southeastern U.S. is growing very rapidly as people are beginning to collect the group and record data on MO and facebook, etc.
An illustrated checklist for Alabama, Georgia, and Florida is expanding here:
