When: 2018-10-21
Collection location: Littlerock Rd., Tumwater, Thurston Co., Washington, USA [Click for map]
Who: Drew Henderson (Hendre17)
Notes:
Fruiting under young Douglas firs. Red tinged hymenium in mature specimens and lining spore layer upon drying. Amanita muscaria var. flavivolvata were fruiting within a few feet of each collection(as with last season in the same location. Added images of dehydration process(showing pink colorations to interior of cap flesh where cut-more pronounced after dehydration). I grind up the dried collection(spore mass and all) and mix with Kosher and himalayan sea salts annually for Holiday gifts/trade.
