Purple spindles that have been bleached out by the recent heavy rains(which often happens with this species after a few days). The “purpurea” gets lost rather quickly and catching these at the earliest stage possible is always advantageous for photographers. Canopy=young Western Hemlock, vine maple and Douglas fir saplings. I collected a few fragile specimens and dried them for herbarium. Available for sequencing and further study.
