Specimen is 4.5 cm tall, with a “trumpet” shape or funnel shape, grayish tan underside darkening in color to black near the edge of the sporocarp. Inner layer of the sporocarp is black, not viscid, and becoming hollow towards the center of the funnel. Underside has definite deccurent wrinkles along its surface. Specimen was found clumped in a group, off a trail in grassy soil. Spore print was unobtainable
