Recognized by sight: I have to add that I don’t have any particular opinion about the name, I just liked this obs to go along with the other “spissa”. If someone wants to change it later, it’s easier to let it be deprecated in favour of excelsa..
This looks like it could correspond to Amanita spissa/excelsa var. valida (cap umber, with significant striations on the margin).

Not a convincing pantherina

With those thin and mealy patches on the cap and very striate/corroded cap margin, don’t you think this is the same as the other obses (34741, 42, 43) of “spissa”?
Amanita spissa is considered to be a synonym of Amanita excelsa, which is the older name and probably the one we should use.
