What do you mean it’s valid?

Mycena delicatella was moved into Hemimycena by Singer in 1938, and most authors since then have treated it as a Hemimycena. The color, stature, gill attachment and rhizomorphs at the base of the stem strongly suggest Hemimycena to me.

MO prompt “valid name” does not look right

“Mycena delicatella (Peck) A.H. Sm.” is also valid, not reason to call for the change.
Valid publication is defined in Chapter V of the ICN. To say that one name is more valid than another is nonsense.
Mycena delicatella & Hemimycena lactea are heterotypic synonyms (subjective synonyms in the zoological nomenclature), and one should be careful to replace one with the other without having studied the group’s taxonomy.
