Notes:
Collected fruiting within 15 yards of the south end of the Carr House (near a picnic table) under oaks. The flesh turned blue, and the pore surface very dark blue-black within seconds of cutting or bruising. The “button” and mature specimens were within a couple meters of each other; note yellow pores in the button. There are two other red-pored/blue-staining boletes in the canyon, but this one has an amazingly fast and dark staining. Specimens to go to Jonathan Frank for sequencing.

If it has been done, is there a GenBank accession for it?
I think this is one of the new ones; sample has not been sent to Dr. Frank yet; we have been collecting for these the past few years and I use MO numbers rather than a personal numbering system as it directly codes to the pictures. I just found my batch of samples from that collection day today and added them to MO in anticipation of shipping them.
