Notes:
Two fruit bodies (caps ~3 inches diameter) growing under white pine.
All parts very fragile. Stipes striate somewhat twisted.
Spores mostly 6 sided, 1.4<Q<1.8.
The general appearance of these large mushrooms reminds me of E. strictius. According to sources, E. strictius appears later in the season, and the spores are mainly 5 sided. These two mushrooms seem large and with caps too pale for E. vernum. Other possibilities for the species…?
