Notes:
Growing abundantly on the underside of a decorticated hardwood log. Not releasing a pigment in 1M KOH. Ectal excipulum of textura angularis. Cells of ectal excipulum brown. Paraphyses hyaline, septate and with rounded tips. Asci thick-walled, 8-spored and with a strongly amyloid gelatinous apical cap. Most asci with reddish apices in Lugol’s, with some blue apices. Spores brown, smooth and 1-septate. Spore measurements: (14.5) 15.1 – 18.3 (20.3) × (4.3) 4.5 – 5.1 (5.3) µm, Q = (3) 3.1 – 3.8 (4.3); N = 30, Me = 16.4 × 4.8 µm; Qe = 3.5
