Growing on soil among leaf litter in a hardwood forest. Not releasing a juice or latex when cut. Asci operculate, 8-spored, uniseriate and with amyloid apices. Spores roughened, hyaline, and with smooth caps on the ends. Spore measurements: (15.5) 16.3 – 18.4 (19.1) × (7.8) 8.1 – 9.2 (9.4) µm, Q = (1.8) 1.9 – 2.2 (2.3); N = 30, Me = 17.5 × 8.6 µm; Qe = 2
