Notes:
Fruiting from a cankered limb of Pinus resinosa. Ascoma hard and erumpent, after two days of incubation they opened up becoming fleshy and cupulate, measuring 3-5 mm in diameter when opened. Asci 8-spored, unitunicate, inoperculate, inamyloid. Paraphyses filamentous, septate, slightly inflated at tips. Medullary excipulum interwoven hyphae, ectal excipulum looks globose with pigmented brown walls. Spores hyaline, ellipsoid, and smooth. Ascospores measured from ejected spores in H20 ~9.2 × 6 um.
