Observation 369871: Tricholoma terreum group

When: 2018-11-04

Collection location: Stratford, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Jon Krys (krysj)

No specimen available

Notes:
Gathered in a couple of coniferous forests amongst the pine needles on the forest floor. I was on a guided hike and they were identified as “fawn mushrooms” to me. Edible and apparently they are a mushroom that actually freezes well.

Recognized by sight: Pluteus has a different cap texture and the gills are free and more closely spaced, and would be turning pink by this stage of development.
