But I haven’t seen any phylogenetic studies of west coast Ganoderma. I have heard a rumor that what we have in California is all G. brownii, and I sequenced one of my collections and it turned out to be that. However I am not sure what the situation is like in Washington. Probably the same, as the photos look like G. brownii….But I am not going to put effort into changing the old observations until I see a bit more data.

Wow! Changing all of those ID’s sounds like a long project. Thanks for pointing out the correct name.

All of the Ganoderma applanatum observations in Washington state should probably be changed to G. brownii.
