Solitarily, under Oak in sandy(ish) soil. Margin prominently striate; stipe very slightly flocculate, material depositing on hands when handling, discoloring slightly brownish. Odor nondistinct. Basal volva very flimsy, white. Spores broadly ellipsoid to elongate, infrequently subglobose, appearing to exhibit crassospore-like ornamentation, deep yellow to amber in Melzer’s, hyaline in water & KOH, apiculus somewhat sublateral; ~ 8.0 – 9.8 (10.8) x 7.0 – 8.0 (9.0) μm, (L’ = 9.02 μm; W’ = 7.44 μm; Q = 1.07 – 1.37; Q’ = 1.21)
