What cap there is, resembles that of G. applanatum, but the majority of the top surface does not.
White pores stain brown. Upper surface mostly white and wrinkled and soft.
Might just be growing very rapidly.

Recognized by sight: Has the smooth brown cap of G. applanatum as well as the white pores that stain brown, and brown flesh in multiple layers. But it is not at all applanate and the majority of the upper surface is white, soft, and slightly wrinkled, not hard and brown. Pores round to angular.
