Observation 382743: Amanita lavendula group

When: 2019-09-16

Collection location: Midland, Michigan, USA [Click for map]

Who: Eric (eozkan)

No specimen available

Notes:
Discovered this solitary mushroom on 9/14/19 newly emerged from litter-covered soil near a young pine tree at the edge of a mixed woodland. The cap was a mottled mixture of tan and butternut and the white gills were only partially unveiled at that time. Left it for final collection on 9/16 after the veil had dropped completely and spores were dropping. Large volva, large ring remnant, clearly seems to be an Amanita of some type, white spore print. Would appreciate help with identification.
