Habitat: Growing on fallen oak log in a mixed hardwood forest.
Substrate: Wood, dead hardwood

Cap/upper_surface: First observed, 2018-12-24. Largest cap, ca. 2.5 cm across; some caps fused. Young caps have distinctly raised, concentric velvet zones with very narrow bald zones.
2019-01-01. When wet, caps turn brow with just a cream margin.
2019-01-07. Reverted to original colors when dry again.
Pattern of colors repeated when wet and dry subsequently over a 4-month period. Over time, the velvet zones became worn resulting in white and greenish zones and the bald, brown zones expanded slightly.

Cap/underside: Undersides smooth; not pores.
