Was wondering myself

Going back thru old, forgotten photos…was trying to remember if this was a stick on the ground, where maybe one half was exposed and the other wasnt…but I really cant remember. And now the more I look at it. I do think it could be two different spp.

Is it at all possible that you have both Xanthomendoza hasseana and Candelaria fibrosa growing together here? I don’t recall if C. fibrosa will grow rhizines/cilia under the margin of the apothecia, though. That’s more typical of X. hasseana… But the color of the two halves are so different!
