Notes:
Growing abundantly on dead, fallen Phytolacca americana stems. Paraphyses with branched and blackish apices. Asci bitunicate and 8-spored with croziers. Asci measurements: (96.2) 105.6 – 120.9 (125.8) × (11.6) 13 – 16.2 (16.8) µm, Q = (6.5) 7 – 8.4 (9.3); N = 17, Me = 112 × 14.6 µm; Qe = 7.7. Spores hyaline, smooth, lacking appendages and up to 9-septate. Spore measurements: (29.1) 33.4 – 44.2 (47.3) × (6.4) 6.8 – 8 (8.6) µm, Q = (4.2) 4.6 – 5.7 (6.3); N = 30, Me = 38.8 × 7.4 µm; Qe = 5.2
