Notes:
Collected by a participant in the West Virginia Mushroom Club’s 2019 foray. Covering a Tyromyces-like polypore on a hardwood stick. Perithecia bright orange and turning purple in 1M KOH. Asci unitunicate, 8 spored. Spores breaking into 2 and part spores smooth, hyaline and dimorphic, with one rounded end and one tapered end. Part-spore measurements: (2.6) 2.7 – 3.7 (4) × (1.7) 2.1 – 2.8 (3.6) µm, Q = (1) 1.1 – 1.6 (1.9); N = 30, Me = 3.1 × 2.4 µm; Qe = 1.3
