This large colony of Laetiporus sulphureus was first noticed and photographed growing on a fallen Sugar Maple on October 17, 2003. It was photographed again on September 10, 2005 (photos attached). Brackets were growing on both sides of the upright tree trunk, as well as on some large sections of tree outside of the range of the accompanying photo. The colony was revisited again on September 10, 2006, but only a few brackets were found on this occasion.
