Notes:
These seem to be a North American variety of Amanita erythrocephala-the redheaded Yellow Dust amanita. The young specimens are bright red orange that fades to a reddish center with a bright yellow orange slightly striate margin. these were found under Norway Spruce in central NJ. The amyloid, ellipsoid spores measure 5-5.5-6 microns. The stipe is yellow above and below the bright yellow annulus. The volva is very pale and fragile withnwhite mycelium.
