No specimen available

Massive flushes of this Lactarius species were seen springing from underneath leaf litter in a mixed woodland. Taste was hot and spicy on the tongue, white milk did not appear to discolor markedly over time, some browning on gills with bruising. Gills appeared more crowded than similar L. subvellereus. White spore print. Appears to be L. deceptivus but would appreciate clarification if necessary.
