On a lawn under fairly young white pine.
The late-season ones tend to feature a thicker coating of white universal veil on the caps.
I sectioned one button and laid half the cap out hoping for spores. The other half was just left on a tabletop with its half-stipe attached. The half with the stipe continued to expand and eventually dropped spores. The other half did not expand but did drop enough spores to see a thin print. The two halves are shown together in the 5th phot0.
