Collected on MEA via settle plate culture. Unfortunately, I lost the culture before any other photos could be taken.

To capture basidiomycota, there would need to be a sporulating fruit-body in the vicinity that would land on the plate. That’s generally not as common. Not everything I’ve captured is an ascomycota, but most are.
Did you ever catch “higher fungi” growth, or molds always take over before anything else got a chance ?
Most of the molds I capture via settle plate cultures (setting a pre-poured plate into open air for a limited period of time) in varied environments. I then isolate the various growths, study and barcode them.
Why are you growing cultures of these strange fungi, if I might ask; is there any use of it, or is it for scientific purposes ?
