Observation 45713: Infundibulicybe gibba (Pers.) Harmaja

When: 2010-05-20

Collection location: Beaver Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Bob Zuberbuhler (Bob Z)

No specimen available

A cluster of these small, thin, brown mushrooms was found in a stand of conifers. The cap was shallow bowl-shaped and the gills were white and extended down the slender stalk. The cap margins appeared to be fringed, but the appearance was the result of upturning of the rim with exposure of the white gills. I think this may be a clitocybe but would appreciate opinions.
