Notes:
Found on a sun-baked rock on the outlook trail at South Llano River State Park. Neglected to get any closeups of what appear to be the apothecia, unfortunately.

I think those are perithecia

Sometimes they turn dark, almost black, around the ostiole, making them look sort of like apothecia. But if you sliced one open, you’d see they are perithecia.
