A single fruiting body brought in by an unknown NJMA foray participant. I only saw it when the stipe was already discolored dark gray/brownish-gray. John B and I together keyed it out to rubescens and rubriceps. The latter could be a better fit because the cuticle peels to about 1/3. I didn’t see this russula staining red before the changeover to gray. John took it home to work in it some more. More details, like spore measurements, tbd.
