Collected near the Indian Pass trail. Growing abundantly on conifer litter at the base of a Thuja occidentalis near Abies balsamea, Pinus sp., Picea sp., Betula alleghaniensis, Betula papyrifera and Ilex mucronata. Basidiocarps 44.0 to 80.9 mm long and 3.7 to 33.3 mm wide. Context white. Surfaces turning green with 10% FeSO4. Stem bases attached to white rhizomorphs. Odor not distinctive. Taste bitter. Clamps present. Basidia 4-sterigmate. Spores hyaline and smooth. Mature spores not found.
