Observation 46566: Polyporales sensu lato

When: 2010-06-09

Collection location: Beaver Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Bob Zuberbuhler (Bob Z)

No specimen available

This mushroom was found on the top of a rotted stump on the edge of deciduous woods. The flat to slightly convex cap was 3" wide and 4" long and was tan to off white with a somewhat scalloped margin. The white underside had large, irregular thin walled pores that looked as though they might be breaking up into teeth. The 2" long stalk was lateral and made a 90 degree angle near the attached end. I need help in identifying this specimen.
