Anybody know what the little brown colored mounds are on these?

There was a strange type of bug on one of them, maybe something the bug left behind?

In my experience, Those are some nice looking specimens.

Even if any insects were to consume some of it, the boiling process will eliminate any problems. If you’re really worried, use a micron filter or something.
