Yes, M. verrucipes has very distictive scaber like patches on the stipe, no other Melanoleuca has them.

of hairs on the stipe that fails to support alboflavida? Got to admit, that seemed a bit unusual to my memory. The field guides all mention hairs on the stem for alboflavida.
