Observation 48454: Entoloma murrayi (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Sacc.

When: 2010-07-11

Collection location: Walking Iron Park, Dane Co., Wisconsin, USA [Click for map]

Who: Steve Nelsen (sfnelsen)

No specimen available

Entoloma luteum, I think. Light yellow cap~ 4 cm, drying in streaks. Darker yellow rather distant gills, thin yellow fragile stem ~8 cm long, .4 wide. spores pinkish brown, cubical in some views. I am continually surprised by the diversity of fungi at Walking Iron. We have been collecting there for about 17 years, and never saw this before.
