These are a very cool species and one of my favourite mushrooms to find.

Rod, I have to admit that I have never taken much notice of our Aussie Amanitas but I will endeavour to keep the Amanita observations coming.

love the bright yellow veil remnants around the base, and thanks for the in-hand shot…hard to get a sense of size w/out it!

Interesting to see the limb at the stem base…

Such a limb is depicted (as white) in the somewhat imaginative plate of M. C. Cooke. I’d like to know from our friends from Oz how commonly one sees this character.
